Tanya's, London

After 4 years of living the dream, selling soap at Lush, I worked my very last day there last week. I was really sad to leave, but am also really excited to start a new job in a yoga studio. Anyway, to celebrate/commiserate my departure, Hannah, my manager and I went for a goodbye date in London and as she's vegan and I've wanted to go to Tanya's for ages, we started our date with breakfast there. After a quick walk from Sloane Square we found ourselves at the Myhotel in Chelsea and popped through to the beautiful, light and very green cafe that is Tanya's. We sat outside in the courtyard which was a refreshing outdoor space filled with flowers, but the interior was just as beautiful with pots of plants attached to the walls, it was like being in a very pretty green house.

I'd already looked at the menu before I went and knew that I wanted the dehydrated flaxseed banana crepes with yoghurt and maple syrup. But was really torn between that and the avocado un-toast when I got there (avocado wins every time doesn't it?). But as you can tell from the photo, the crepes still won. I've said lots of times that breakfast is my favourite meal of the day and this crepe has gone to the top of my breakfast list, it reminded me a bit of fruit leather, filled with fresh fruit, and topped with cinnamon. So. So. Good.

The drinks on the other hand, I hadn't pre-decided, which made it super hard when it came to ordering because there was so many good choices, but after a lot of deliberating Hannah went for My Ninja, matcha green tea, almond milk, hempseed milk, agave, salt, vanilla and fresh mint and I went for the My Warrior, almond milk, coconut H2O, banana, pineapple, 'sun warrior protein', maca and bee pollen. We agreed that I won this round of drink choosing, but both were unique and flavorful.

After devouring our crepes and drinking the delicious drinks, we still weren't quite ready to leave the beautiful courtyard space, we deliberated about ordering more food, but decided instead to have another drink (I always order too much and get serious 'I've eaten way too much' regret). We both had a My Hot Choc, cocao, date paste, almond butter, cinnamon and vanilla. I usually find hot chocolate way too heavy, but this was perfectly light and the perfect way to end the meal.

If you're in London, give this place a try, it's really beautiful inside and out and I will be back to try the lunch and dinner menu as soon as I can!
