The Green Rocket Bath

Last week Mr Hef and I had a little trip to Bath for a bit of a break, which was basically one big nap in a beautiful cabin with some great vegetarian restaurants in between. One of those great restaurants was The Green Rocket, I did a little bit of research online and put this on top of our itinerary. We went there for lunch as soon as we got to Bath, feeling pretty hungry and a bit groggy from the drive, but lit up as soon as we walked in the restaurant.

We were seated downstairs which was really cute and intimate, then the waiter put some Bonobo on which please Mr Hef no end (I'm not such a fan). The menu is really varied and has a selection of smaller bites and large plates, Mr Hef was pretty reserved and had a Falafel sandwich served with chilli sauce and tahini dressing. Where as I went all out and had the Mezze – Falafel, tahini sauce, beetroot muhammara, baba ghanoush, quinoa tabbouleh, zaalouk, harissa marinated carrot salad, served with dukkah flatbread and halloumi.

I love a good mezze and this one didn't disappoint! The highlights definitely being the harissa marinated carrot salad and the warming Zaalouk. It had an incredible mixture of textures and flavours and a portion size big enough to let me share with Mr Hef without secretly hating him inside for stealing my food. He really enjoyed his sandwich (he proper loves falafel, so he also finished off mine).

I loved this restaurant, I wish there was one like it closer to me, but I'll just have to save it for the next time I'm in Bath. I really wanted to go back for breakfast because it sounded so good, but Mr Hef was being a meanie and made me eat a banana and a bagel instead of spending all of my money on food (he is the worst). But I'm sure there will be a next time.
